The last time I wrote, I thought it was HOT! How do like it now? I’m looking forward to our Community Picnic on August 13th. I hope to see many friends there and that the weather will be favorable.

Our two Fall Teams are well underway. The men’s first team meeting in this Saturday. Let’s keep both teams covered in prayer for health and Spiritual well-being. We recently purchased new Emmaus Director (for team leadership) and Team manuals so that we can keep aligned with the Upper Room guidance.

I ask that you be open to those around you for potential Pilgrims. Our mission is to build Spiritual leadership within our home churches – is there someone that might be open to a conversation to draw closer to our Lord in a unique way? Please talk to your community friends about those in your church. Please remember to be open with your responses to their questions. You can discuss any aspect of the weekend and 4th Day Community. We really want to continue our work to breakdown the notion of secrecy. Let’s pray and work together for full weekends and that His will be done.

The Board of Directors is fortunate to have establish an “Outreach and Education Coordinator” led by Pastor John Unger. John was contacted by the Upper Room to be a community trainer, which I endorsed. He will work with them and prepare sessions aimed at updating our knowledge of the 4th Day Community as it is continuing to change and develop over the years. Keith Rauch will work on this committee as an extension that educates on the practical aspects for the Community to focus on continual activities and to better support our weekend events. Currently there are many servants that work behind the scenes, and sometimes they are over-tasked in preparing agape, supplies, and the associated paperwork.

The Upper Room national model has a formal “Outings” entity where these activities are captured, led, and coordinated and Keith will explore this for integration. The way to think of it is that our 4th Day is THE BIG DEAL for the Community and weekend events are part of it. We just use the weekends to get to the 4th Day. Tom Swift is also part of the Committee and heads up our 4th Day Training and Reunion or Accountability Group efforts. He, with others, can aid in establishing or developing your local groups.

See you at the picnic!
